The consortium consists of the following academic and industrial partners:



The Oulu Mining School at the University of Oulu in Finland is the leading academic partner and the MINETRAIN project coordinator.


First Quantum Minerals Ltd. is a Canadian based mining company that owns and operates the Pyhäsalmi mine in Finland. FQM is the main industrial partner in this project.


The Chair of Underground Mining Methods of the Institute of Mining & Special Civil Engineering at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg in Germany is a basic academic partner in the project.


Outotec Oy is a Finnish technology company selling complex mining technology and plant projects that it designs and then executes itself or in collaboration with its partners. Outotec is a basic industry partner.



Normet Oy is another significant industrial partner in the project coming from Finland providing advanced demanding solutions for selected customer processes in underground mining and tunneling.


Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy in Finland is a subsidiary of the Swedish Sandvik AB, an engineering group in mining and rock excavation, metal-cutting and materials technology. Sandvik is yet another important industrial partner in the project.



Schneider Electric is a global specialist in energy management and automation. The company offers IoT-enabled solutions to seamlessly connect, collect, analyse and act on data in real-time delivering enhanced safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
